Vietnam Comprehensive Birding: Best of Indochinese Birding from South to Central Tour Pricing

2023 Pricing: $4,290 US Dollars, or £3,470 GBP* for 17 Days and 16 Nights

 

With 2 Trip Extension Choices:

(1) North Vietnam Extension for 6 Days and 5 Nights More for $900 USD (£690 GBP*)
(2) Cambodia Extension for 6 additional Days and 5 Nights for $1,500 USD (£1,140 GBP*) per person. 

 

Inclusions: 

  • The Tour package includes all lodging, meals*, and access fees to reserves, parks, and other birding sites.

  • Premier Bird Guide: All of our tours use the services of an excellent bird guide, often a well-recognized expert on birding in this area. 

  • Top-Rated Preparation Services: We support your preparation for the trip. We provide information on the birds you will see and all the travel details, including all logistic details (arrival plans, trip itinerary, lodging details, and more), information on entry into Vietnam and Cambodia, and information on travel health issues, packing information and more. Most of our clients comment that our Trip Participation Guide is the best they have ever seen.

  • Transport and Airport Transfers: 

    • Local ground transport is included. This includes a large transport van (and/or jeep as needed) for most of the trip. 

    • We also have a driver or guide pick you up at the airport upon arrival, and transfers for internal flights are included, and we arrange for a transfer back to the airport at the end of the trip.  

  • Acre for Bird Conservation: As part of our efforts to support bird conservation, we purchase in the name of customers (for each booking) at least one acre (but averaging between three and four acres) of wilderness to support bird conservation. As our trip prices are often 20% (and often even a better deal) less than our competition, this does not really cost you more and it is a great way to support bird conservation around the world.

  • Small-Group Pricing: All the above prices are for tour groups of six to eight participants. We are happy to provide pricing for private groups with fewer than six participants.

 

 

*Pricing Notes and More Details:

 

  • US Dollar Pricing: Vietnam prices are fixed in US Dollars.

  • Pricing in British Pounds: (1) Our GBP/British Pound pricing is based upon an exchange rate of 1.31 US Dollars per British Pound (the exchange rate on March 8, 2022). (2) We will charge you the actual transaction rate here, but please note that we work to minimize transaction costs. Using Transferwise, we usually pay under one-half a percent (and sometimes less) on the actual exchange. (3) Due to costs related to UK travel regulations, our tours booked and paid through BlueTailBirding.com (for the UK and European clients) will cost 200 GBP more (and this price is reflected in our website pricing). Please contact us anytime about questions here.   

  • Bank Fees: We do not charge bank fees for wire transfers for clients paying into our accounts in the United States, the United Kingdom, and/or Canada.

  • Note on Meal Inclusion: Meals include three meals per day during any full day of the trip.  The arrival day does not have any meals.  The day of your international flight departure will include breakfast.

  • Note on Beverage Inclusion: Most of our meals are provided by the lodges, and we follow their practices in providing beverages at meal time. Most lodge-provided breakfasts include coffee, tea, and/or juice, and most box lunches include bottled water or juice. Other beverages served at supper are your choice and are an additional expense that you pay to the restaurant directly. We provide water at the table for supper. We also provide bottled water during the birding day.  

  • Group Size: We anticipate a group of 6 to 8 participants, and pricing is based on this group size.   


Optional Costs for Booking the Trip:

Single Room Supplement: 

  • If you want to share a room, please let us know. We are often able to find a roommate for those wanting to share a room.

  • If you want a single room, please state this at the time of booking. 

  • Single Room Supplement Main Tour: $820 USD (or 630 GBP*) is the price we charge for the additional cost of anyone not sharing a room with another birder (and/or a spouse). Single rooms are limited at Montezuma, based upon availability there.

  • For the North Vietnam Extension, $230 USD (or £180 GBP*).

  • For the Cambodia Extension, $330 USD (or £250 GBP*) is the price we charge for the single room supplement. 


Pre-Paid Tipping for Meals/Lodging: Add $80 (or £60 GBP*) to pre-pay these tips if in a shared room, or add $120 USD (or £85 GBP*) if in a single room. We do present to you clear tipping recommendations if you want to do the tipping yourself. Most of our clients prefer to do the tipping themselves. For the North Vietnam Extension, add $30 USD (or £20 GBP*). For the Cambodia Extension, add $25 USD (or £20 GBP*).

Notes on Other Tour Costs: Exclusions:  

You will need to pay for any flight costs involved in this trip.

  • Birding starts in Ho Chi Minh City and ends in Hanoi for the main tour. This flight can often be booked for about $50 USD (or 35 GBP*).

  • The North Vietnam extension does not involve any additional flights.

  • The Cambodia extension will likely add another $250 to $350 USD (180 to 250 GBP*) to flight costs for most participants.

  • The tour fee does not include taxes/fees for entering or exiting the country, telephone calls, laundry, and other items of a personal nature. Tips for birding guides and trip drivers are not included in the tour price.
