Texas: Rio Grande Valley 8 Day Birding Spectacular

Trip Description

Brief Itinerary

This trip covers a large portion of south Texas, thr Rio Grande Valley, and a portion of central Texas to maximize the number of birds that can be found.  On this trip you will hit all the popular RGV sites to get Green Jay, Great Kiskadee, Buff-bellied Hummingbird, Olive Sparrow, Plain Chachalaca, Northern Beardless-Tyrannulet, Common Pauraque, and more.  We will also spend the last full day of the trip driving further upstream along the Rio Grande to visit Salineño, where Red-billed Pigeons nest on a nearby island, the newly renamed Morelet's Seedeater works the reeds, and Muscovy Ducks occasionally fly up and down the river.  You will visit raucous parrot roosts, excellent bird blinds, gulf coast shorelines, boardwalks, and a mix of world famous birding sites and lesser known local stakeouts.  With luck a mega rare bird or two may hop accross the border for you to see as well.  So come visit south Texas with our experienced local guide, enjoy some southern cuisine, and enjoy the amazing birdlife this wonderful area has to offer.
