Papua New Guinea Itinerary

Trip Description

Brief Itinerary

This short tour gives you the chance to see sixteen birds-of-paradise as well as members of all seven endemic families and is a great introduction to birding in New Guinea.

The tour covers the key birding sites such as Varirata National Park, the Mount Hagen area and the Central Highlands in Enga Province. We will explore the diverse habitats found in these areas, from tropical rainforests in the lowlands to sprawling grasslands and forested valleys in the higher hills.

This is an affordable tour with nice lodging and reasonable walking (seemingly relaxed for most birder’s expectations) that gives every birder the opportunity of a lifetime to experience the highlights of birding in paradise.

The birding knowledge and company of our experienced tour leaders play a major part in the success of our tours here. They will be assisted by a series of local guides who monitor sites for key species throughout the year for our benefit.
