for 11 Days and 10 Nights

2018 Pricing: $4,490 US Dollars

for 11 Days and 10 Nights

Inclusions:

  • Tour package includes all lodging, meals* and access fees to reserves, parks and other birding sites.

  • Premier Bird Guide: All of our tours use the services of an excellent bird guide, often a well-recognized expert on birding in this area. In Cuba, Arturo Kirkconnell. Arturo Kirkconnell is the author of the Field Guide to the Birds of Cuba and widely recognized as the premier bird guide of Cuba. We are developing relationships with new Cuban bird guides, due to the high demand for Cuban birding.

  • Top-Rated Preparation Services: We support your preparation for the trip. We provide information on the birds you will see and all the travel details, including all logistic details (arrival plans, trip itinerary, lodging details and more), information on entry into Cuba and information on travel health issues, packing information and more. Most of our clients comment that our Trip Participation Guide is the best they have ever seen.

  • Transport and Airport Transfers:

    • Local ground transport is included. This includes a large transport van for most of the trip.

    • We arrange transport to the hotel at the airport upon arrival, and we arrange for a transfer back to the airport at the end of the trip.

  • Acre for Bird Conservation: We support bird conservation, saving several acres for bird conservation for every booking.  For every tour participant, we provide support for bird conservation by the acre.  Acres are sometimes purchased, but we often support conservation easements through a variety of reputable conservation partners, such as the Rainforest Trust and the World Land Trust.  We have protected over 70,000 acres over the last three years.

  • Small Group Pricing:

    • All the prices mentioned above are for tour groups of eight participants. We are happy to provide pricing for private groups with fewer than four participants.

*Pricing Notes and More Details:

  • US Dollar Pricing: The price is fixed in USD.  There is intense demand for service related to tourism in Cuba.  Once booked, we will honour our prices as invoiced.  If you book late, there is a risk of price increases due to inflation in the Cuban tourism sector (lodges and fuel primarily).

  • Bank Fees: We do not charge bank fees for wire transfers for clients paying into our accounts in the United States, the United Kingdom and/or Canada.

  • Note on Meal Inclusion: Meals include three meals.  Supper is included on the arrival day of the tour.  Breakfast is the only meal served on the departure day of the tour.  Beverages at breakfast and lunch are included.  Supper includes water at the table and a soft drink.  You must pay for any alcholic beverages on the tour.

  • Note on Beverage Inclusion: Each day, we provide water for refilling your personal bottles during the birding day.

  • Group Size:

  • We anticipate a group of 8 participants, and pricing is based upon this group size.

Optional Costs for Booking the Trip:

Single Room Supplement:

  • The single supplement for our 11 Day/10 Night tour is $420.

  • This is the price we charge for the additional cost of anyone not sharing a room with another birder (and/or a spouse). If you want a single room, please let us know.  We are often able to find a roommate for those wanting to share a room with a person of the same sex.

Notes on Other Tour Costs: Exclusions:

  • International airfare is not included. Anticipate international airfare to be around $300 to $400 in most cases. Some lucky Cuba travelers have been getting flights for $200, and some air carriers are offering flights from some Florida cities for under $180.

  • The tour fee does not include taxes/fees for entering or exiting the country, telephone calls, laundry and other items of a personal nature.

  • The tour price does not include the price of any alcoholic beverages.

  • Tips for birding guides, trip drivers, restaurant servers or hotel staff are not included in the tour price.  Tipping is much like that in the United States.

  • Tipping is not included.

    • This would include tipping for meal service staff and lodging staff. We can include this tipping cost if you would like to pre-pay tipping for these service staff for $80, covering the duration of the tour.

    • Tipping costs for guide and driver are not included.

  • Additional lodging in Havana (if needed) is about $80 to $180 per room per night, and most of our guests end up in comfortable bed-and-breakfast type accommodations for about $120 USD per night.

  • Budget a few dollars a day for beverages at supper, especially if you want a soft drink or any alcoholic beverage.
