Inclusions: 

 

• The Tour package includes all lodging, meals*, and access fees to reserves, parks, and other birding sites. 

• Premier Bird Guide: All of our tours use the services of an excellent bird guide, often a well-recognized expert on birding in this area. 

• Top-Rated Preparation Services: We support your preparation for the trip. We provide information on the birds you will see and all the travel details, including all logistic details 
  (arrival plans, trip itinerary, lodging details, and more), information on entry into Bhutan and information on travel health issues, packing information, and more. Most of our clients comment that our Trip Participation Guide is the best they have ever seen.

• Transport and Airport Transfers: 

o Local ground transport is included. This includes a large transport van for most of the trip.  
o We also have a driver or guide pick you up at the airport upon arrival, transfers for internal flights are included, and we arrange for a transfer back to the airport at the end of the trip.  
o The Flight cost for two internal trip flights is about $570 US Dollars (about 460 GBP) and is not included in the trip prices above. We book these flights at cost, and we will bill the actual costs here. This includes flights from Delhi to Guwahati (a domestic flight in India at the start of the trip), and then Paro, Bhutan to Delhi.

• Acre for Bird Conservation: As part of our efforts to support bird conservation, we purchase in the name of customers (for each booking) at least one acre (averaging between 3 to 4 acres) of wilderness to support bird conservation. As our trip prices are often 20% (and often even a better deal) less than our competition, this does not cost you more and it is a fun way to support bird conservation around the world.

• Small-Group Pricing: All the prices mentioned above are for tour groups of seven or eight participants. We are happy to provide pricing for private groups with fewer than seven participants (including couples). We will offer a reasonable small group supplement to make tours "go" for three, four, and five participants.

*Pricing Notes and More Details:

 

• Pricing in US Dollars: Trips to Bhutan are fixed in US dollars (USD).

• Pricing in British Pounds: (1) Our 2025 (and late 2024) price estimates are mostly based on US Dollars; so, our GBP/British Pound pricing is based upon an exchange rate of .79 GBP (British Pound) per US Dollar (the exchange rate on March 19, 2024). (2) We will charge you the actual transaction rate here, but please note that we work to minimize transaction costs. Using Transferwise, we usually pay under one-half a percent (and sometimes less) on the actual exchange. (3) Due to costs related to UK travel regulations, our tours booked and paid through BlueTailBirding.com (for the UK and European clients) will cost 200 GBP more. • Bank Fees: We do not charge bank fees for wire transfers for clients paying into our accounts in the United States, the United Kingdom, and/or Canada; however, we do take into account currency exchange transaction fees (often about 1.5%).

• Note on Meal Inclusion: Meals include three meals per day during any full day of the trip. The arrival day does include lunch and supper, as most flights arrive in the morning. The departure day includes only breakfast, as most flights leave in the morning.

• Note on Beverage Inclusion: Most of our meals are provided by the lodges, and we follow their practices in providing beverages at meal time. Most beverages are your choice and are an additional expense that you pay to the restaurant directly. We provide water at the table for supper. We also provide bottled water during the birding day. 

• Group Size: Prices are based on seven or eight participants. If the group books 3, 4, or 5 participants, we will offer a reasonable small group supplement. We are happy to price small custom tours (groups of 2 to 8), as well.

 

Optional Costs for Booking the Trip:

 

Single Room Supplement: $580 USD (or 460 GBP*) is the price we charge for the additional cost of anyone not sharing a room with another birder (and/or a spouse). If you want a single room, please let us know. We are often able to find a roommate for those wishing to share a room with a person of the same sex.

 

Pre-Paid Tipping for Meals/Lodging: Add $100 USD (or about 80 GBP)  to pre-pay these tips if in a shared room, or add $50 USD (or about 40 GBP) if in a single room on the main 15-day trip. We do present to you clear tipping recommendations if you want to do the tipping yourself. Most of our clients prefer to do the tipping themselves.

 

Notes on Other Tour Costs: Exclusions: 

• You will need to pay for any flight costs involved in this trip.  

• The tour fee does not include taxes/fees for entering or exiting the country, telephone calls, laundry, and other items of a personal nature.

• Tips for birding guides and trip drivers are not included in the tour price.
