Birding Southern Ecuador: Endemics and Specialties

A more productive birding trip for Ecuadorian and South American birders. Excellent Jocotoco Foundation lodges support bird conservation and lay the groundwork for another productive birding trip to South America.

More details about this trip:

Most trips find 450 to 500 species with well-planned itineraries and top Ecuadorian guides. As many as 60 hummingbirds species can be seen plus both Umbrellabirds, difficult species (such as Jocotoco Antpitta and El Oro Parakeet), other fantastic species from Choco forest, Tumbesian endemics, and specialties. Then off to the very birdy areas of Podocarpus National Park and the Tapichalaca Reserve.

For those with additional time, we highly recommended our Key Endemics in Cajas and Yungilla Extension, which adds 5 days to the tour and visits many birdy sites around Saraguro, Cajas National Park, and the Yungilla Reserve. We also can arrange many other extension options, including excursions to Peru, if you so desire.

Pricing: $4,590 US Dollars, or £3,610 GBP for 13 Days and 12 Nights. Extensions available.

Group Size: Most tours viable at 7 or 8 participants
