Saskatchewan Birding
Itineraries: Brief and Detailed

Trip Description
Brief Itinerary
On this tour we will visit two main habitat types, starting with the prairie habitats of Grassland National Park and finishing with the boreal forests at Prince Albert National Park. The two regions have very different breeding bird species. We hope to see 150-175 species of birds on this tour.
Grasslands National Park is home to a variety of prairie species, such as Baird’s Sparrow, Nelson’s Sparrow, Sprague’s Pipit, Sharp-tailed Grouse, Gray Partridge, Burrowing Owl, Loggerhead Shrike, Thick-billed Longspur and Chestnut-collared Longspur, to name a few.
At Prince Albert National Park, the extensive boreal forests are home to birds like Spruce Grouse, Boreal Chickadee, Canada Jay, LeConte’s Sparrow, White-winged Crossbill, and a stunning array of warblers. We have a chance to see the Great Gray Owl. Lakes will have breeding Common Loon and bogs might hold Rusty Blackbird, Connecticut Warbler, and Yellow-bellied Flycatcher.
