Inclusions:

The Tour package includes all lodging, meals, and access fees to reserves, parks, and other birding sites.

Premier Bird Guide: All of our tours use the services of an excellent bird guide, often a well-recognized expert on birding in this area. Beyond our lead bird guides, these tours have many well-experienced local guides.

Top-Rated Preparation Services: We support your preparation for the trip. We provide information on the birds you will see and all the travel details, including all logistic details (arrival plans, trip itinerary, lodging details, and more), information on entry into Papua New Guinea, and information on travel health issues, packing information, and more. Most clients comment that our Trip Participation Guide is the best they have ever seen.

Transport and Airport Transfers:

Local ground transport is included. This includes a large transport van for most of the trip and jeeps in some locations. This also includes all fluvial (by boat) transport described in the itinerary.

We also have a driver or guide pick you up at the airport upon arrival, transfers for internal flights are included, and we arrange for a transfer back to the airport at the end of the trip.

Acre for Bird Conservation: As part of our efforts to support bird conservation, we purchase in the name of customers (for each booking) at least one acre (but averaging between three and four acres) of wilderness to support bird conservation. As our trip prices are often 20% (and often even a better deal) less than our competition, this does not really cost you more and it is a great way to support bird conservation around the world.

Small-Group Pricing: All the prices mentioned above are for tour groups of 7 or 8 (minimum of 7 participants).

Single Supplement: The single supplement is priced at $1,400 USD (or 1,120 GBP*) for the main tour. The single supplement is priced at $420 USD (or 340 GBP*) for New Britain Extension. Please note single rooms may not be available at all sites, due to the limited choice of lodging options in remote parts of Papua New Guinea.

We estimate the three internal flights for the main tour will cost $1,050 to $1,450 USD. We bill actual costs here.

Bank Fees: We do not charge bank wire fees for client payments into our accounts in the United States, the United Kingdom, and/or Canada.

Note on Meal Inclusion: Meals include three meals per day during any full day of the trip. The arrival day does have supper. The departure day includes only breakfast, as most flights leave in the later morning.

Note on Beverage Inclusion: The lodges provide most of our meals, and we follow their practices in providing beverages at mealtime. Most beverages are your choice and are an additional expense that you pay to the restaurant or lodge directly. We provide water at the table for supper. We also provide bottled water during the birding day.

Group Size: We anticipate a group of 7 or 8 participants, and one tour leader (Leio De Souza or Jesse Huth). The tour often is supported by at least one additional local guide and driver. Pricing is based on this group size.
Optional Costs for Booking the Trip:
Single Room Supplement: Budget $1,400 USD (or 1,120 GBP*) for a single room on the Main Tour. Budget $420 USD (or 340 GBP*) for a single room on the New Britain Extension. In most situations, we can arrange a single room. Due to the remoteness of most sites in Papua New Guinea, some lodges may not provide a single room (even if we book it). We will adjust the final single room price to match our actual economic costs. If you want a single room, please let us know. We are often able to find a roommate for those wanting to share a room with a person of the same sex.
Tipping for Meals/Lodging: Gratuities for drivers, hotel staff, and restaurant staff are not included in the pricing for this tour. If you wish to pre-pay these tips, add about $200 US Dollars to the tour price, and/or otherwise budget about $8 to $10 USD per day for these tips.
You should plan to tip your tour leader separately.
