Brief Itinerary
Sulawesi is an island in Indonesia; and it is a natural wonder. Here, the continental, species-rich Oriental Region’s fauna and flora to the west collides with the relatively impoverished, oceanic-island biota of Wallacea to the east.
Sulawesi is the largest and most geologically complex of all the islands of Wallacea because of repeated collisions between these two biogeographic zones. A unique laboratory of life has emerged, producing the most amazing experiment in mammals and avifauna the world has ever witnessed.
Day 1: Arrival in Makassar (Sulawesi)
Day 2: AM Karaenta Forest; PM Flight to Palu and Drive to Lore Lindu National Park.
Days 3- 5: Biriding Lore Lindu National Park.
Day 6: AM Birding Lore Lindu National Park; PM Birding Transfer to Palu.
Day 7: Flight to Tangkoko and Birding Transfer to Tangkoko Lodge.
Day 8: Full Day Birding at Tangkoko National Park. Evening Boat Tour to Mangroves.
Day 9: Full day Birding at Tangkoko and Temboan Hills
Day 10: Birding Transfer to Kotamobagu.
Day 11: Birding for Maleo at Tambun/Bogani Nani. PM Birding Maleo Place
Day 12: AM Birding at Mount Ambang; PM Drive to Tomohon.
Day 13: AM Birding at Mount Mahawu Volcano, PM Birding Mount Mahawu-Tomohon area.
Day 14: AM Birding, PM Transfer to Airport.
HALMAHERA extension.
Day 14: Flight to Ternate, Speed Boat to Sofifi and Drive to Subaim
Day 15: Full Day Birding at Folli Forest.
Day 16: Full Day Birding at Gunung Uni-Uni.
Day 17: AM Birding and Return to Sofifi – Kali Batu Putih.
Day 18: AM Birding Kali Batu Putih and Back to Sofifi; PM Boat Trip near Sidangoli Village.
Day 19: AM Birding near Sofifi; Speed Boat to Ternate; PM Birding Tolire Lake.
Day 20: Transfer to Airport to Connect with International Flights
