2016 Trip Pricing: $3,890 US Dollars, or £2,590 GBP* for 14 Days and 13 Nights

Inclusions: 

 

• Tour package includes all lodging, meals* and access fees to reserves, parks and other birding sites. 

• Premier Bird Guide: All of our tours use the services on an excellent bird guide, often a well-recognized expert on birding in this area. The Bolivia trips have an excellent guide in José Antonio Padilla, Lelis Navarrete or Xavier Muñoz.

• Top-Rated Preparation Services: We support your preparation for the trip. We provide information on the birds you will see and all the travel details, including all logistic details (arrival plans, trip itinerary, lodging details and more), information on entry into Bolivia and information on travel health issues, packing information and more. Most of our clients comment that our Trip Participation Guide is the best they have ever seen. 

• Transport and Airport Transfers: 

         o Local ground transport is included. This includes a large transport van (and/or jeep as                           needed) for most of the trip.  
         o We also have a driver or guide pick you up at airport upon arrival, and transfers for internal                 flights are included, and we arrange for a transfer back to the airport at the end of the trip.  

• Acre for Bird Conservation: As part of our efforts to support bird conservation, we purchase in the name of most of our customers an acre (and sometimes as many as 200 acres) of wilderness to support bird conservation. As our trip prices are often 20% (and often even a better deal) less than our competition, this does not really cost you more and it is a fun way to support bird conservation around the world. For our latest fiscal year, we saved an average of 80 acres for each booking.

• Small Group Pricing: All the prices mentioned above are for tour groups of six to eight participants. We are happy to provide pricing for private groups with fewer than six participants.

 

Possible Additions to Basic Trip Pricing:

 

• With Lelis Navarrete as Lead Guide: Add $200 US Dollars (or £130 GBP) to the basic trip price for the additional costs of using South America’s top birding guide.  

             

• With Jose Antonio Padilla Reyes or Xavier Muñoz as Lead Bird Guide: Add $0.00, as our trip price is based upon using these premier birding guides for Bolivia.

 

• With Second Tour Leader: Add $400 (or £255 GBP) to the basic trip price for a few of our trips, which feature the services of a second tour leader. Most of these trips with two tour leaders are identified on our “Schedule of Trips”. We rarely run two-leader trips to Bolivia, and we have none for 2016.

 

• Some of our tours are sponsored by a conservation partner (such as a local Audubon organization or birding group), and these trips are often priced slightly higher. Most of these sponsoring organizations welcome birders who are not members of their organization on their trips. The names of these tour sponsors are often listed in our “Schedule of Trips”. We have no trips scheduled with an Audubon partner to Bolivia in 2016.

 

*Pricing Notes and More Details:

 

 

• US Dollar Pricing: The Bolivian currency, the Boliviano, has been relatively stable against the US 
  Dollar in the last four years (fluctuating around .142 to .145 Bolivianos per US Dollar). Because of this stability, lodges and vehicle rental and other logistical costs are often priced in US Dollars. Thus, we use US Dollars as the currency for pricing this trip. Trip prices for 2016 for our trips to Bolivia are fixed in US Dollars.

• Pricing in British Pounds: The GBP price indicated above is based on the July 2, 2015 exchange rate of 0.64 GBP per US Dollar. The trip price is fixed in US Dollars, and the final charges for the trip will be based upon the actual exchange rates we pay. The exchange rates we pay are the exchange rates used by our banks.

• Bank Fees: We do not charge bank fees for wire transfers for clients paying into our accounts in the United States, the United Kingdom and/or Canada.

• Note on Meal Inclusion: Meals include three meals per day during any full day of the trip. The arrival day does not include any meals, as most flights arrive after 7 PM. The departure day includes only breakfast, as most flights leave in the morning.

• Note on Beverage Inclusion: Most of our meals are provided by the lodges, and we follow their practices in providing beverages at meal time. Breakfast usually includes coffee or tea and/or juice (as provided by the lodge), and box lunches include either bottled water or juice. Other beverages served at supper are your choice and are an additional expense which you pay to the restaurant directly. We provide water at the table for supper. We also provide bottled water during the birding day.

• Group Size: We anticipate a group of 6 to 8 participants, and pricing is based upon this group size.     

 

Optional Costs for Booking the Trip:

Single Room Supplement: $280 USD or £180 GBP* is the price we charge for the additional cost of anyone not sharing a room with another birder (and/or a spouse). If you want a single room, please let us know. We are often able to find a roommate for those wanting to share a room.

Pre-Paid Tipping for Meals/Lodging: Add $120 USD or £80 GBP* to pre-pay these tips if in a shared room, or add $150 USD or £95 GBP* if in a single room. We do present to you clear tipping recommendations if you want to do the tipping yourself. Most of our clients prefer to do the tipping themselves.

Notes on Other Tour Costs: Exclusions:  
 

• You will need to pay your international flight cost for getting from your local airport to Bolivia (Santa Cruz in and La Paz out). Most people travelling from the USA or Canada can reach Bolivia for about $1,100 (give or take $200 depending upon airline and other airline pricing factors). Most people can reach Bolivia from the UK or European countries for about £900 GBP (give or take £100 GBP depending upon airline and other airline pricing factors).   

• The tour fee does not include taxes/fees for entering or exiting the country, telephone calls, laundry and other items of a personal nature.

• Tips for birding guides and trip drivers are not included in the tour price.
