Inclusions: 

• The Tour package includes all lodging, some meals* (see below), and access fees to reserves, parks, and other birding sites.

• Premier Bird Guide: All of our tours use the services of an excellent bird guide, often a well-recognized expert on birding in this area. 

• Top-Rated Preparation Services: We support your preparation for the trip. We provide information on the birds you will see and all the travel details, including all logistic details (arrival plans, trip itinerary, lodging details, and more), information on entry into the United States (if applicable), and information on travel health issues, packing information and more. Most of our clients comment that our Trip Participation Guide is the best they have ever seen.

• Transport and Airport Transfers:

  • Local ground transport is included. This includes a van throughout the trip.

  • The tour price also includes the pelagic birding tour price as well, by boat.

  • For the first night of the trip, we use a hotel that provides free airport transfers. However, in many cases, we have the trip guide pick you up at the airport upon arrival. 

  • We arrange for a transfer back to the airport at the end of the trip, or to a hotel that will provide you with free transport service.                                                                                  

• Acre for Bird Conservation: As part of our efforts to support bird conservation, we purchase in the name of customers (for each booking) at least one acre (but averaging between three and four acres) of wilderness to support bird conservation. As our trip prices are often 20% (and often even a better deal) less than our competition, this does not cost you more and it is a great way to support bird conservation around the world. 

• Small-Group Pricing: All the prices mentioned above are for tour groups of seven or eight participants. We are happy to provide pricing for private groups with fewer than seven participants.

*Pricing Notes and More Details:

• US Dollar Pricing: The price is fixed in US Dollars (USD).

• British Pound* Pricing: (1) Our 2025 (and late 2024) price estimates are mostly based on US Dollars; so, our GBP/British Pound pricing is based upon an exchange rate of .79 GBP (British Pound) per US Dollar (the exchange rate on March 19, 2024). (2) We will charge you the actual transaction rate here, but please note that we work to minimize transaction costs. Using Transferwise, we usually pay under one-half a percent (and sometimes less) on the actual exchange. (3) Due to costs related to UK travel regulations, our tours booked and paid through BlueTailBirding.com (for the UK and European clients) will cost 200 GBP more. • Bank Fees: We do not charge bank fees for wire transfers for clients paying into our accounts in the United States, the United Kingdom, and/or Canada.

• Note on Meal Inclusion: Meals include breakfast as provided by the hotels each day following Day 1 of the trip. The main tour price also includes 2 box lunches around Denali, which are essential to support the Denali National Park tour. Beyond this, the budget is about $30 to $40 USD (20 GBP* to 30 GBP*) per day for lunch and supper.

• Note on Beverage Inclusion: Each day, we provide water for refilling your personal bottles during the birding day. 

• Group Size: We anticipate a group of 7 or 8 participants, and pricing is based on this group size. 

• Book Early: Given that much of the key lodging we need for this tour fills up by November, we prefer everyone try to book by November 15. We have squeezed clients in late for this tour, but it can prove difficult. Best to please book early.

Optional Costs for Booking the Trip:

Single Room Supplement: The single supplement for this trip for 2024 and 2025 ranges from $960 to $1390 USD (or around £760 to £1,090). The single supplement for Nome Extension is $680 USD (or 540 GBP). This is the price we charge for the additional cost of anyone not sharing a room with another birder (and/or a spouse). If you want a single room, please let us know. We are often able to find a roommate for those wanting to share a room with a person of the same sex.

Tipping for Meals/Lodging: Gratuities for drivers, hotel staff, and restaurant staff are not included in the pricing for this tour.

Notes on Other Tour Costs: Exclusions: 

• You will need to pay for any flight costs involved in this trip. 

  • This will include flights to Anchorage, Alaska for the main tour.

  • This will include flights to Nome, Alaska for the main tour. Budget about $380 USD (or 300 GBP*) for these flights. We do book any flight internal to the tour at cost.

• The tour fee does not include taxes/fees for entering or exiting the country (as may be necessary), telephone calls, laundry, and other items of a personal nature.
