Northeast: Assam Plains & E. Himalayas

India’s northeast corner, represented by a stretch of extremely rugged mountainous terrain, is justifiably considered the richest birding area in the country. The enormous range of altitudes within relative proximity of one another, together with their corresponding climates and resultant vegetation, from moist sub-tropical forests in lowland valleys to temperate conifer forests on steep upland slopes, enables different complexes of species to exist almost side by side.

More Details About this Trip:

Arunachal Pradesh lies at the confluence of the Palaearctic region with both the Indo-Malayan and Indian sub-regions of the Oriental bio-geographic realm, bringing together here floral and faunal elements of the subcontinent with those of Myanmar, Tibet and southern China and enabling the development of one of the finest wildlife assemblages Asia has to offer.
